JOTA Weekend 2011.
The JOTA weekend took place on the 15th and 16th October 2011.
On Saturday the 16th some 16-18 Scouts visited the BSARS shack to try and have a chat to other scouting groups around the world. These Scouts were from Hastings and camped out on Friday night at a field in Westfield then hicked to Brede on the Saturday morning. There was ice on the fly sheets in the morning - the first of the year.
The Scouts made quite a few contacts and they had an enjoyable couple of hours having a chat and passing on their greetings to other Scouts.
Over the weekend there was a total of 115 contacts - not all JOTA stations but well over half were.
All in all a good weekend and the club look forward to taking part in next years JOTA.
The club also managed to make contact with T32C on the Saturday morning - and it was on the first shout.
